It is always difficult to assemble and maintain a list of recommended, trusted sites in any field, given the rapid rate of change of the Web. However, here are some sites for reputable organizations with which I have been involved over the years, which you may find useful.

PubMed
A service of the National Library of Medicine, PubMed allows visitors to search the medical literature for any topic of interest.

The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery
Our national ENT academy. I served as the chair of the AAOHNS technology infrastructure committee for many years, and also as a member of the nominating committee. The AAOHNS website has a very useful feature for finding local referrals in specific subspecialties of ENT near any given zip code.

JAMA Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery
Our AMA journal. I was on the editorial board as Internet editor from 1995 through 2011.

The American Bronchoesophagology Association
A national organization founded in 1917 by Chevalier Jackson, the ENT physician who developed the modern method of removing foreign bodies from the esophagus and airway, an advance that has saved the lives of countless children. I served as the president of the ABEA from 2010-2011.

The American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology
Our national society of pediatric ear, nose and throat physicians. I served several terms as an ASPO officer, as the chair of the information technology committee.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City
I am Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics at the School of Medicine and Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Mount Sinai Hospital. I was a resident at Mount Sinai, and I have been on the faculty since 1994.
